Barcodes

Barcodes are a key tool for efficiently tracking and managing products. They store information in a series of lines and spaces that can be scanned and decoded by machines, enabling quick data retrieval. Commonly used in retail, logistics, and inventory management, barcodes streamline operations by improving accuracy and reducing manual errors. They come in various types, such as UPC and QR codes, and are essential for modern supply chain and point-of-sale systems.GS1 barcodes are globally unique identifiers. You can easily obtain them by purchasing from Buy Barcodes India and printing them on your product packaging. Retailers will then register your product information in their database through their point-of-sale or inventory management software. This process includes your product details along with the barcode number. Once registered, every time the barcode is scanned, the system will instantly display your product information.
When an end consumer scans a barcode, they will only see the 13-digit number. To display your product information when scanned, you need to register your barcodes and make the details available online along with your product information. This ensures that consumers can access relevant product data upon scanning.

The Barcodes We Offer

EAN-13 Barcodes

EAN-13 barcodes are widely utilized across India and many regions around the globe, with the exception of the United States and Canada. These barcodes are particularly effective for identifying retail product variants, such as a single 100g soap bar or bundled offerings, like a pack of three 100g snack items.Designed to facilitate easy scanning and inventory management, EAN-13 barcodes enhance the retail experience by allowing for quick checkouts and efficient stock tracking. However, it’s important to note that EAN-13 barcodes are not suitable for books and magazines, which typically use different classification systems like ISBN.

UPC-A Barcodes

UPC (Universal Product Code) barcodes are 12-digit GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) identifiers predominantly used in the United States and Canada. These barcodes are essential for tracking and managing retail products, making them ideal for various applications, such as single-item variants like a 100g soap bar or product bundles, such as a pack of three 100g snack items. The UPC barcode system facilitates quick and accurate scanning at points of sale, improving the efficiency of inventory management and sales processes. However, it’s important to note that UPC barcodes are not applicable for books and magazines, which typically utilize the ISBN (International Standard Book Number) system for proper categorization and identification.

A barcode is an optical representation of data used for the automatic identification and tracking of products, assets, or entities. It comprises parallel lines and spaces of different widths, which can be scanned and decoded by a barcode reader. While barcodes serve various purposes, they are most commonly seen on retail products to retrieve price and product details at checkout. In these cases, the barcode is simply a 12 or 13-digit number encoded as an image.

In India, for example, stores like Reliance and D-mart require registration with GS1 for acceptance. These requirements can change over time.
